| This 2 day technical training prepares course participants to use what is now being called the “Ready Approach” to identify and meet needs of persons who have maladaptive responses associated with sensory needs. The "Ready Approach" synthesizes sensory, neuro-behavioral and cognitive considerations into an organized approach, which applies to the evaluation and treatment of individuals as well as to the design and operation of whole programs serving many individuals. It is a particularly important alternative for people who have excessive behaviors such as self-stim/injury, defensiveness or hyperactivity. The "Ready Approach" is primarily based on current thinking related to the neurobiology of behavior, emotion, consciousness and memory. It is now being used with success in regular and special school setting and in a variety of treatment programs for infants, children and adult across the United States. |

determine when and how to intervene.
